Dirty River Roller Derby opens the spring season by organizing a home tournament in Kupittaa Ball Game Hall on Sunday 18.1. Three games are played in the tournament: one first division game and two Finnish Championship games. Welcome!

Kupittaa Ball Game Hall is an accessible venue. There are two disabled parking spaces and a very gentle uphill slope in front of the building. The doors are automatic but there is a 2 cm threshold. The audience is on the same level as the entrance and can be accessed with a wheelchair. There are two accessible toilets on the same floor.

There is a tactile walking surface indicator guiding you from the door to the audience. Guide dogs are obviously allowed at the event. There is an induction loop in the audience. A personal care assistant can attend the event for free when attending with the person they are assisting. There are gender neutral toilets available.

We as the organizers would kindly ask you to come to this event scent-free so that people with chemical and fragrance sensitivities can also attend and enjoy the event. Thank you!

We follow a safer space policy. If you are faced with an uncomfortable situation or see something that is disrespectful, please contact the security guard or any of the organizers.

Turku Pride Week Scrimmage on Monday the 25th of August

Dirty River Roller Derby is organizing an open scrimmage on Turku Pride week on Monday the 25th of August from 7 pm to 9 pm at Ilpoisten Palloiluhalli! The event is open for audience and also players of all skill levels, referees and officials are welcome to join!

There will be fast paced action, glitter and rioting within the boundaries of the rules! We encourage you to bring your own Pride flags with you and come as you are! Roller derby Finnish Championship and 1st division tournament on Saturday 10th of May at Kupittaa Sports Hall

The rumbling of roller skates echoes in the Kupittaa Sports Hall when Turku’s roller derby league Dirty River Roller Derby organises a Finnish Championship series tournament on Saturday the 10th of May. There will be played one Finnish Championship game and two first division games in the tournament.

DRRD wants to remind everyone of the roots of the Pride movement so in the scrimmage Stonewall Rioters are playing against Turku Rebels. The event is open for audience and also players of all skill levels, referees and officials are welcome to join!

Turku’s Dirty River Roller Derby is organizing a Finnish Championship series and 1st division roller derby tournament at the Kupittaa Sports Hall (Lemminkäisenkatu 32a) on May 11th.

The tournament will feature two Finnish Championship level games and one 1st division game.

DRRD 10 YEARS KUPITTAA SCRIMMAGE SEPTEMBER 12TH

We will have an intraleague 10 year anniversary scrimmage at Kupittaan palloiluhalli on September 12th. Audience is also warmly welcome at 1:45 pm. FREE ENTRY!

However, there will be no contact with the audience and the skaters. We will monitor the COVID19 situation and cancel the event if necessary.

Fun Skate Friday 22.5.2020 – online!

Need something fun to do during the quarantine? Join our Fun Skate Friday on 22 May! While we cannot physically skate together at the moment, we can still go skating inside or outside and share our happy feelings on social media. Check the Facebook event for more info.

Here’s how it works: go skate and have fun on May 22nd and take a picture or film a video of it. You can add the photo/video to the Facebook event and mention if DRRD can post it on our social media channels. Alternatively you can participate by posting your photo or video on Instagram using the hashtag #funskatefriday. If your account is public, we will then share your post in DRRD’s Instagram Stories!
