Equality: DRRD aims at being a safe environment free of discrimination for all members, volunteers, and fans. Out of respect for gender diversity and every member’s right to self-determination, we do not use gendered terms or expressions in our practice space. DRRD does not approve of discrimination based on a person’s skin color, religion, gender, gender identity, age, nationality, disability, body type, marital status, or sexual orientation. Every person and DRRD member is equally important regardless of whether they identify as female, male, non-binary, transgender, agender, or anything else on the gender spectrum. DRRD does not set minimum requirements of femininity to the skaters in its own or in the opposing teams. Anyone who feels like they can play under the umbrella organization WFTDA (Women’s Flat Track Derby Association) is allowed to skate in DRRD’s competing charter teams.
Openness and transparency: In DRRD, we have a positive and open attitude towards our members’ proposals and views. Everyone has the right to be heard within our association. In the association’s internal communication, information must be presented in simple, understandable way and be readily available. Information is shared in such a manner that it is easily accessible for all members. All matters, even problematic ones, are discussed openly. Communication is multidirectional: the board and the committees inform the membership about their decisions and activities on a regular basis. As values, openness and transparency also strengthen our sense of community by ensuring that opportunities to be heard and make a difference are available for everyone.
Animal rights: Only vegan products may be sold and served in DRRD’s name.
