What: Roller derby beginners’ practices – basics of roller skating, safe contact and roller derby rules
Schedule: Beginners practices start on Friday the 18th of September. The schedule is:
– on Fridays from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm for the first four weeks
– on Fridays from 7.30 pm to 9.00 pm and on Sundays from 1.45 pm to 4.00 pm for the next four weeks.
The last practice is likely on Sunday the 8th of November.
Where: Ilpoisten palloiluhalli, Lauklähteenkatu 15, Turku
What do you need: Your own gear (we have also a limited amount of skates and gear to lend out)
Age limit: 16 years
Cost: 85 € which includes a membership fee for the year 2026.

You don’t need previous experience in roller skating or sports. Roller derby is for everyone – no matter your body type. We’ll start with the very basics and help you develop at your own level and at your own pace. After completing the beginner practices you can join our all-league practices and apply to join our teams. You don’t have to skate to be a part of our community. You can also become a referee, an official or a volunteer. We strive to make our activities and practices welcoming, safe and encouraging.
